What are the responsibilities and job description for the IS Tech III position at ACMC Healthcare System?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Serves as the initial point of contact between the End-User and IS Department personnel. Responsible for ensuring the IS Department supported hospital workstations and peripherals are maintained at the highest level of availability and reliability possible. This position could include the support of the phone/paging system of the hospital (i.e. the running of phone and network cables throughout the hospital system).
The four key areas of responsibility at a hospital/department or technology level are
1. LAN and/or desktop tools based administration
2. Hardware, software and peripheral installation/configurations and moves/adds/changes
3. Small project and problem resolution
4. Documentation
- Assists management and staff in completing projects and resolving problems.
- Ensure help desk calls are quickly addressed and resolved.
- Responsible for implementing workstation standards as defined by the IS Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by IS Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent education in Information Technology.

- Base knowledge of current PC software packages and systems: Microsoft Office Suites (2019, O365), Invision, Kronos Dimensions is a plus.
- Experience and/or certification(s) in Microsoft desktop operating systems (Windows 7/10) help desk or project tracking tools, and/or web-based documentation tools is a significant plus.
- Base knowledge of Avaya phone system, exposure to a paging system.
- Adherence to organizational and departmental initiatives.
- Required Length and Type of Experience:
Minimum of six months of experience in an information systems environment to include some hands-on support of a small to mid-sized (5-100 node) network. Experience should include hands-on workstation O/S and application troubleshooting. Experience should also include personal computer architectures and interface components (i.e. memory management, device drivers, and operation systems),and peripheral installation/configuration.
- Basic understanding of OSI model, troubleshooting issues using event logs.

- Will be required to frequently move, unbox, re-box PC’s, monitors, printers, and peripherals (10-50lbs) via the use of a two-wheeled cart or dolly.
