Weekend Work Program Requirements
- Weekend work opportunities will be available on every shift. The positions will be offered to non-bargaining unit caregivers in the unit only and awarded based on seniority among the caregivers who hold position on that shift. A caregiver will not be permitted to change shifts to obtain a weekend work program position. These employees will be in the “Weekend Work Program, WWP”.
- Weekends are defined as 7:00 pm on Friday to 7:00 am on Monday.
- WWP full-time caregivers will be required to schedule themselves (2) consecutive weekend shifts within the same weekend, and (1) additional shift during the week; or a night shift full-time caregiver may schedule themselves for (3) consecutive weekend shifts.
- WWP part-time caregivers will be required to schedule themselves (2) consecutive weekend shifts within the same weekend.
- WWP caregivers will be permitted to trade with another caregiver to work a different weekend shift and still receive the weekend pay even if the trade results in non-consecutive weekend shifts.
- Hours scheduled during the week may not be used to satisfy the weekend work commitment.
- Weekend Pay: WWP caregivers will receive a 25% differential for their weekend hours worked. No additional shift differentials would be applied.
- Weekend pay will not be paid for PTO or leaves.
- Holiday requirements are the same as for caregivers on the unit. If a holiday that the WWP caregiver is required to work falls on a weekend shift, the caregiver will receive holiday pay for the applicable holiday and weekend pay for other weekend shifts worked
- If ARMC moves a WWP caregiver off a weekend shift and requires them to work a non-weekend shift because of scheduling requirements, they will receive weekend pay for the non-weekend shift.
- A WWP caregiver shall make a three (3) month commitment to the program. Thereafter, should the caregiver wish to leave the WWP, they shall submit a thirty (30) day notice to her immediate supervisor, be returned to non-WWP status within her same shift, department, and FTE. The Medical Center may then post the WWP position to make it available to other caregivers in the department.
