Network Administrator
General Description:
The primary role of the Network Administrator is to install and maintain the network infrastructure and utilities within the organization. This includes network switches, routers, firewalls and wireless along with network operating systems such as Windows Server, Exchange and VMware. The Network Administrator must also be able to assist company employees with day-to-day PC technical support. Within ACME this includes support for virtual Windows environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee and support day-to-day LAN/WAN operations including hardware and software.
• Maintain network systems including Exchange, Windows Server, VMware and Veeam backup software.
• VoIP telephony support with Office 11 Avaya SIP services.
• Installation and maintenance of end-user software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to technically document network layouts and procedures.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with employees to meet their needs.
• Ability and willingness to learn new applications and skill sets.
Knowledge and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Windows and Windows Server operating systems.
• Understanding of routing and switching functionality in the OSI model.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365.
• Understanding of network connectivity at layers 1 - 3.
• Knowledge and usage of VMware including, VSphere, VCenter and Horizon View.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and ok with heights
Additional Knowledge Considered a Plus:
• Experience with firewall configuration to include Palo Alto and Fortinet.
• Knowledge of HP Servers, Cisco, Meraki, Brocade and Fortinet devices.
Education:
• Computer Science degree or related field
• 5 years of network related field experience required
Compensation
Pay: $75,000-80,000/year
