Catering Event Planner
Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Catering Event Planner to join our team.
Catering orders may be simple “drop off” orders to large highly planned events. The Event Planner takes catering orders over the phone, ensuring accuracy, and providing exceptional service to clients. As a full-service caterer, the Event Planner handles not only food but also event essentials such as lighting, DJs, décor, and other vendor services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to anticipate client needs, proactively suggest solutions, and ensure every event runs smoothly from start to finish. A key responsibility is responding to catering inquiries with timely, well-crafted proposals to secure new business and maintain strong client relationships.
To inspire confidence in our clients, the Catering Event Planner must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, both in-person and over the phone, while providing attentive and knowledgeable service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather event details, dietary preferences, and special requests to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- In collaboration with our Chefs, provide recommendations on menu selections and package options based on client needs.
- Coordinate with kitchen and delivery teams to ensure seamless execution of catering events.
- Work with outside vendors to arrange services such as lighting, DJs, floral arrangements, rentals, and other essentials.
- Schedule and manage banquet servers to ensure proper staffing and smooth event execution.
- Maintain organized records of orders, proposals, contracts, and client preferences.
- Support marketing efforts by promoting catering services to potential clients.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and food safety regulations.
Important Qualities:
- Previous experience in catering, event planning, or customer service preferred.
- Strong phone etiquette and ability to communicate professionally.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to foresee potential event needs.
- Ability to manage multiple orders, vendors, and deadlines efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn our catering management software.
- Ability to assist in physical set up and clean-up of event spaces.
- Reliable transportation required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 28 per week
