What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at Acme United Corporation?
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining records of inventory within the Distribution Center. Able to research and troubleshoot both physically and systematically all inventory goods.
PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Research the history of physical and systematic goods within Distribution Center
· Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment to safely stage and move merchandise throughout the distribution center
· Perform cycle counts
· Assist other personnel as needed to ensure inventory accuracy
· Run and create inventory queries in Warehouse Management System
· Reconcile discrepancies in inventory
· Must utilize a computer and/or a manual tracking system of information
· Promote team approach by cooperating with all staff at the distribution center
· Initiate transactions through the RF system to ensure that the correct merchandise has been electronically updated
· Complete inventory consolidations, as needed
· Maintain a clean and orderly work area
· Be a role model and change agent by embracing continuous improvement ideas and concepts
· Lead and work on special projects, as needed
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE
- 1 year working directly in a moderate-to-high volume assembly process or equivalent
- Able to add, subtract, divide, calculate percentages, read fractions
- Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently
- Effectively and correctly read and follow instructions
- Experience utilizing RF units
- Previous Experience operating material handling equipment

- Must be a self-starter and have the skills to multi – task

- Moderate proficiency Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Ability to twist, turn, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, see, and hear
- Ability to reach and lift above shoulder height for duration of shift
- Ability to work on elevated surfaces for duration of shift
- Ability to lift and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to operate material handling equipment i.e., forklift, stock picker, walkie rider, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- All work is in an environmentally controlled warehouse environment. However, temperatures will adjust with the seasons
- Requires employees to physically work in close proximity with a variety of products such as packaged tablets, gels, latex, plastics, hand sanitizer, bandages and more
