Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing and CNC programming. This role includes driving manufacturing excellence, optimizing production processes, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity while fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

CNC Programming & Process Development:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for machining complex aerospace components.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters to ensure precision and efficiency.
  • Conduct simulations and program verification to meet quality and performance standards.

Manufacturing Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate and refine existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high quality.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement strategies.
  • Standardize processes and document best practices for long-term consistency.

Mentorship & Team Development:

  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them develop their technical skills and career growth.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging knowledge-sharing and innovative problem-solving.
  • Lead training sessions on advanced manufacturing techniques, CNC programming, and industry best practices.

Technical Leadership:

  • Collaborate with design and quality engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and adherence to aerospace standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges on the shop floor and implement effective solutions.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and operational goals.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all manufacturing processes meet aerospace quality standards, such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to resolve non-conformances and develop corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to enhance product reliability.

Project Management:

  • Lead projects related to new product introduction (NPI), equipment upgrades, and process optimization.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for tooling, materials, and equipment procurement.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the aerospace industry.
  • Expertise in CNC programming using software such as Mastercam, CATIA, NX, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-axis machining, turning, and milling.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint interpretation.
  • Deep understanding of aerospace materials and machining properties (e.g., titanium, aluminum, composites).
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a track record of developing junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, ERP systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management abilities.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
  • CNC programming or manufacturing-related certifications.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or similar aerospace quality standards.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment involving machining centers, tools, and equipment.
  • May require occasional travel to suppliers, vendors, or other company facilities.
