A Lead Commercial Loan Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties in supporting the work of the Bank’s Commercial Loan Officers in meeting the financial service needs of its commercial customers. In addition, the role is responsible for providing training, leadership, coaching and mentorship to the department’s Commercial Loan Assistants.
What are the key responsibilities?
- Training, leading, coaching and mentoring Commercial Loan Assistants;
- Accurately processes various financial transactions;
- Prepares documents for commercial loans, such as commitment letters, reaffirmation letters, and other correspondence related to current and prospective customers;
- Assembles loan packages prior to and post settlement;
- Contacts various settlement agents, attorneys, and insurance companies to facilitate the settlement process;
- Responds to inquiries or requests for information from other Bank personnel and commercial loan customers within given time frames and established policies;
- Assists with preparation of monthly/quarterly reports; and
- Assists the Commercial Loan Support Manager and serves as the backup in her/his absence.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- PC skills, including a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- A thorough knowledge of commercial loan policies and procedures;
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills;
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills;
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize work;
- Strong analytical skills;
- The ability to multitask and work in a dynamic and complex environment; and
- The ability to work independently with little supervision.
Preferred:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a related position.
