Low Voltage Estimator
Acomplis Technology is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Estimator to support our growth in the Electronic Security, Fire Safety, and Communications industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating low voltage systems, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of industry-specific technologies, regulations, and project cost structures.
Reporting directly to our CEO, you will play a key role in developing accurate project estimates, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring competitive and profitable proposals that align with our company's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for low voltage systems.
- Work closely with sales, project management, and operations teams to ensure estimates align with execution capabilities.
- Research and source materials, equipment, and labor costs to create competitive bids.
- Prepare and submit detailed proposals, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Identify potential risks, constraints, and cost-saving opportunities within project scopes.
- Develop detailed cost breakdowns, scope of work, and proposals for clients.
- Maintain and update a database of pricing, materials, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and availability.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance in all estimates.
- Assist in contract negotiations and value engineering efforts as necessary.
- Work with the project management team to track actual costs against estimated costs to improve future accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Three to five years of proven work experience in estimating low voltage systems in the Electronic Security, Fire Safety, and Communications industry.
- Experience with estimating software and tools such as Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam, or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Suite.
- Knowledge of construction project management software (e.g., Procore) is a plus.
- Familiarity with DCJS Private Security Services requirements and ability to obtain necessary registrations.
Skills and Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of low voltage systems including fire alarm, access control, IP video, security, and communications systems.
- Strong understanding of IP networking and structured cabling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Proficiency in cost analysis, bid preparation, and financial forecasting.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $65,536.00 - $108,803.26 per year
