What are the responsibilities and job description for the SMT - AOI Machine Operator position at Acorn Assembly LLC?
The right candidate for this position can set up and operate (SMT) surface mount technology machines including screeners, placement machines, ovens and AOI (automated optical inspection) machine by performing the following duties:
- Set-up, operate, and shut down pick and place, screener, oven, AOI and wash equipment
- Ability to monitor, plan and execute work orders.
- Follow prints and sample assemblies or take verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Selects feeders, screens, and any other equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Positions and secures board in holding device, machine table, or fixtures, and loads proper programs and modifications as needed. Sets up fixture or feeding device, and feeds a machine, as necessary.
- Observes operation of the machine and verifies conformance of completed assembly to specifications.
- The candidate we are seeking also has SMT soldering proficiency and will be responsible for the overall organization and quality of the work product.
- May work extended hours based on company needs
- Must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 35 pounds
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
High School Education, prefer Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Skills which are necessary for this role:
- Previous experience in SMT operations and soldering skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; including the ability to read and interpret documents and instructions such as safety, operating, and maintenance manuals.
- Strong leadership qualities
- Previous experience using Mycronic/MyData, or Universal machines helpful.
- Knowledge of general safety procedures, ESD procedures, Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, and to solve practical problems.
