What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Tax Preparer position at Acorn Financial Services?
Tax Planning Associate (CPA, CPA Candidate, EA, or accountant)
Primary duties include tax planning and the annual preparation of various federal, state, local and foreign income tax returns and tax estimates for a variety of taxpayers.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of tax preparation experience
- Preference for someone with proven ability to perform tax return preparation using Intuit ProConnect or similar tax software
- Preference for someone with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Demonstrate technical knowledge and understanding of current tax laws
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Prepare Federal and State tax returns for individuals
- Prepare Federal and State tax returns for C Corp, S Corp, Partnerships and Trusts
- Help advise clients on a full spectrum of financial, tax and estate planning services
- Prepare tax projections, estimated payments and other necessary tax planning
- Gather information, research and respond to tax notices
- Bookkeeping, accounting and administrative responsibilities
- Review and analyze general ledgers and financial statements
- Work closely with clients to deliver timely and accurate financial and tax data
- Prepare and file various local compliance reporting as necessary

- Ability to work independently and communicate with reviewer and clients efficiently and effectively regarding discrepancies and misinformation
- Excellent problem solving skills including ability to research, comprehend tax regulations and tax issues, and apply to client situations
- Proactively communicate with clients and staff to build trust and foster meaningful relationships
- Candidate must be a self-starter who is motivated, analytical, organized, team oriented, and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Salary dependent on experience, and tax return/planning volume. Seasonal requests will be entertained.
