Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by providing accurate estimates and coordinating project activities. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in various estimating software.
Duties
Assistant Project Manager/Estimator (0-5 years of experience)
Initial Training
- Learn to read blueprints and construction documents/specs.
- Learn to use estimating/takeoff software. (MeasureSquare)
- Learn the process of a project from bidding to closeouts.
- Acoustical ceilings training with USG and Armstrong and general superintendent.
- Carpet/Resilient training with mill representatives and general superintendent.
- Ceramic training with distributor representatives and general superintendent.
- Operable door training.
- Acoustical wall panel training.
- Call and introduce/set up meeting with all mill/distributor representatives.
- Job Responsibilities
- Perform takeoffs of ceilings, ceramic, flooring, and acoustical wall panels. (MeasureSquare)
- Attend project walk-throughs as necessary. (Per PM)
- Gather pricing on all materials needed for each project prior to bid. (All scopes)
- Complete submittals for contracted projects.
- Order and track materials.
- Schedule and confirm deliveries to jobsite.
- Organize, file, and maintain project documents.
- Complete project closeout documents.
- Typical Hours 7:30am – 4:30pm/PMs Discretion
- Review after 6 months and 1 year
- Review yearly after the 1st year
- Performance-based raise yearly
- Performance-based yearly bonus
- 401K and Profit Sharing after 6 months (June 30th or Jan 1st)
- Insurance after 30 days (1st of following month)
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with project coordination and management principles is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Civil 3D is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of contract terms and conditions related to construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
