Construction Equipment Operator
ACP Fiber Services is a national provider of professional communication services to the telecommunication and utility industry for network infrastructure buildouts and ongoing network maintenance. We are looking for a Construction Equipment Operator with experience working underground utility construction for full-time work out of our Columbia, SC office. Directional Drilling experience a plus.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate equipment as excavator, skid steer, boring machines.
- Cable handling and pipe laying
- Carry and load materials to be used on the job
- Operate small hand tools
- Provide ground support for backhoe and drill operators
- Light repair and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Direct traffic and kept worksite safe.
- Wash and clean equipment and vehicles
- Train to operate heavy equipment
- Drive company vehicle to and from job site
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory record
- Valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain
- Willing to work overtime as required
- Previous experience in cable/utility installation preferred
- Class A CDL preferred (Higher wage offered to Class A CDL holders)
- Must be physically able to endure the daily activity involved with the job
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
