The client is a $50M Social Services Organization seeking a Jr. Budget Analyst to join their robust Finance Team. The selected individual will co-manage both the accounting and financial side of a ~$5M grants portfolio with guidance from Sr. Budget Analysts and the Controller. Portfolios will consist of city, state, and federal grants / contracts.
Responsibilities
- Help oversee the financial management of all grants, contracts, and revenue streams - ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue, expenses, and reporting with their allocated portfolio
- Collaborate with program managers to develop grant budgets, financial forecasts, variance insights, and strategic planning
- Monitor budgets and expenditures, providing regular financial reports to senior leadership and the board
- Audit and approve the allocations, coding, and expenditures
- Responsible for journal entries and reclassifications
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as specific grant requirements from institutional and foundation donors
- Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors as required by grant agreements.
- Help the team to achieve organizational goals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA, MBA, CNAP preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, ideally in a non-profit setting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables and V-Lookups)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
