Auburndale Learning Academy is seeking an experienced and dynamic Center Director to oversee the daily operations of our Child Care Center. The Center Director will lead the facility to ensure the highest standards of early childhood education, health, safety, and compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including Head Start Performance Standards. This role is integral to providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate services for children and families. The Center Director will manage all aspects of the Center operations, from staff supervision to program implementation, while ensuring the successful delivery of the Head Start and Early Head Start Services offered as a part of the Greater Louisville Head Start program.
This position reports directly to the Ideal Learning Academies, Inc Board of Directors.

Duties
- Lead and manage all day-to-day activities of the center, ensuring quality early childhood education and development services.
- Supervise and support teaching staff to ensure the delivery of high standards of instruction, adhering to Head Start guidelines and child development principles.
- Ensure the center?s compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, and organizational policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor educational programs that align with the Head Start Integrated Service Plan and reflect best practices in early childhood education.
- Manage and mentor staff, providing training and professional development opportunities to ensure the successful implementation of Head Start and Center goals.
- Oversee the center?s budget, including payroll, purchasing, and financial planning, ensuring proper use of resources while remaining compliant with Head Start funding requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including enrollment, health assessments, and individualized progress reports, while ensuring confidentiality.
- Establish and maintain strong communication with parents and community members to foster positive relationships, family engagement, and Head Start?s family strengthening goals.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, developing and maintaining health and safety protocols in line with Head Start regulations.
- Collaborate with management contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate the implementation of the center?s long-term strategic plan and goals, in alignment with Head Start?s mission to provide comprehensive services to income-eligible families.
- Manage staff performance, providing constructive feedback and corrective actions when necessary to maintain a high-quality experience for children and families.
- Conduct outreach to prospective families and provide information about programs and services, ensuring understanding and access to resources.
- Ensure compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
- Maintain local operating licenses, ensuring the center meets all accreditation, licensing, and funding requirements.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field with a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a childcare or early childhood education setting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, including experience with Head Start programs.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and technology skills.
- Ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Strong knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and child development principles.
- Experience with budgeting, finance, and resource management, particularly in a Head Start or similar program setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification for infants and children.
- Must successfully pass background checks and health screenings.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
