Second-Grade Teacher

A second-grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year is here to teach, create a caring and safe environment for the children, and implement activities to improve the overall quality of education in the classroom. She/He must communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Encouraging children to reach their developmental milestones and be promoted to the next classroom, developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, and providing a safe and caring classroom setting. Teachers observe and document children's interests and progress, and relay that information to parents and program administrators. 2025-2026 month teacher contract. Classroom Size 10-12 students.

Duties

Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies and resources appropriate for students assigned to the teacher.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning styles of 7-8-year-old students, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of subjects such as math...
• Create a positive, engaging, and safe classroom environment that encourages students to participate, ask questions, and develop a love for learning.
• Assesses and encourages student progress by promoting engagement, monitoring student progress, responding to adequate and inadequate performances, and appropriately showing support for students.
• �Manages the learning environment by using time efficiently, maintaining an effective physical setting for instruction, and maintaining appropriate student behavior in the classroom.
• Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.
• Completes reports, documentation, duties, and other assignments promptly and professionally.
• Develop appropriate lesson plans for classes and submit them upon request of the immediate supervisor.
• Complies with school, system, state, and federal regulations and policies, including the Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.
• Adheres to the chain of command/reports to the principal.
• Recognizes Cultural Diversity.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material.
• Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the students' maturity and interests within the state curriculum's confines.
• Establish and maintain a positive interpersonal relationship with his/her students, parents, and the community through conferences and written communication.
• Assures security and accountability for classroom equipment and supplies.
  
  

Requirements

Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree in ECE

Certification/Licensing: Valid GA Teacher?s Certificate, CPR & First Aid

Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication, student management, supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to employ various instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners. Ability to handle multiple tasks, computer competence, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills, and stamina to perform essential duties. Attend professional development training.
