Job Summary
Hours of Operation : Monday thru Friday 7 : 00am-4 : 30pm (subject to adjustment due to business needs)
The Counter Technical Expert is responsible for providing excellent service and support for technical inquiries to all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of HVAC products and company operations. The Counter Technical Expert serves as the product and process expert at the location.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Solves technical problems for internal and external customers following ACR’s customer service standards.
- Conducts on-the-job technical training for teammates.
- Attends product and industry-related training and educates teammates on what was covered.
- Stays current on all vendor required trainings, new products, and industry changes.
- Acts as the liaison between store team members and other ACR departments like the Engineer Products team and Sales team.
- Processes customer orders / changes / returns according to established company policies and procedures.
- Provides timely and accurate information to incoming customer order status and product knowledge requests.
- Provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.
- Order taking, invoicing, and quoting (warranties & credits).
- Responds to inquiries of product availability & pricing.
- Cross-references old products to new products.
- Verifies pricing accuracy.
- Calls manufacturers for product availability and places special orders with manufacturer.
- Opens and closes the store.

Work Environment : This position works in a store and warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers. This role requires standing for extended periods of time, which may include the entirety of the scheduled shift.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
