The Senior Systems Engineer will play a strategic and technical leadership role in designing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing our IT infrastructure across offices, data centers, and cloud environments. This position will ensure the seamless operation and security of our critical business applications and infrastructure while driving innovation through the adoption of modern technologies and engineering best practices.
In this role, you will act as a proactive problem solver, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance. You will collaborate with coworkers and other teams to design robust solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior team members to strengthen the organization’s technical capabilities. Clear communication and the ability to present complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders are critical.
Your goal will be to deliver a resilient, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure that supports the organization’s business objectives with minimal downtime and operational interruptions.
This position is fully on-site in Irvine, CA
Pay Range: $130,000-140,000 Salary. Our pay range is based upon experience, education, location and qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership to other team members via knowledge transfer and mentoring.
Hands on experience Windows systems administration, encompassing Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, and more.
Experience with maintenance of network infrastructure, including firewall and switch administration.
AWS and Azure cloud migrations, management and system administration.
LAMP/LEMP stack system administration.
Lead hardware upgrades, software updates, security patches, and other essential deployments.
Ensure we have system monitoring and alerting for all critical infrastructure in all environments.
Backup procedures to safeguard data security, ensure resource availability, maintain data integrity, and meticulously log and review application activities.
Spearhead Windows Server and LAMP stack automation using PowerShell, Python, and similar technologies.
Deploy and maintain infrastructure for both off-the-shelf and custom-built software solutions.
Drive IT infrastructure automation through scheduled tasks and other advanced techniques.
Exhibit strong technical acumen and exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
Oversee Microsoft 365 Admin Center (including Online Exchange) Administration.
Manage Microsoft Azure AD and AWS environments.
Lead Identity Provider (IDP) administration, with expertise in Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
Troubleshoot system/application/network issues and promptly address outages.
Thoroughly document processes and workflow procedures.
Regularly apply OS patches and upgrades.
Responsible for planning and implementation of disaster recovery (DR) environment setup/configuration and annual testing.
Recommend, configure and add new services using administrative tools and utilities.
Own Okta and Active Directory system administration.
Own RingCentral and telephony system administration.
Coordinate and support operational DBAs in the maintenance and management of our system databases.
Provide DevOps support to our development and data management teams.
Qualifications, Education and Experience

7 years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles with a focus on architecture, implementation, and operational excellence.
5 years of experience in AWS and/or Azure environments, including designing and managing hybrid cloud solutions.
Proven expertise in network design and administration, including firewalls, VPNs, and high-performance switches.
Strong background in Windows Server administration and Linux-based environments (LAMP/LEMP stacks).
Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications including (but not limited to): Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint.
Experience with enterprise identity and access management solutions, such as Okta or Azure AD.
Advanced proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and SIEM platforms, Deployment, Configuration. (New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace)
Proven track record in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
IT certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
Experience with Microsoft Security Stack not limited to ATP, Intune, Sentinel, Defender Endpoint
