About the Role (job title and summary):
The Packaging Technician II is responsible for accurately packaging and labeling cannabis products while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations. In addition to the responsibilities of a level 1 technician, this role serves as a lead within the packaging team, providing guidance and support to Packaging Technician I employees. This role will oversee packaging operations in the absence of the Packaging Manager, assist in training and onboarding new team members, and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance. How you’ll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities):
- Accurately package and label cannabis products by hand or machine while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.
- Maintain precise records of inventory, weights, and measurements using company systems and protocols to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Monitor and maintain quality control standards, assisting with troubleshooting and issue resolution in packaging processes.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Packaging Technician I employees, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee packaging operations in the absence of the Packaging Manager, ensuring production goals and compliance requirements are met.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new packaging team members, reinforcing SOPs and best practices.
- Compliantly dispose of waste in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging efficiency and compliance.
- Report and escalate safety or compliance concerns promptly to management.
- Meet daily packaging goals and KPIs to support production efficiency.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of packaging, labeling, and/or production experience – required
- Minimum 1 year of prior leadership experience – strongly preferred (e.g. lead role, team trainer, supervisor experience)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction to team members.
Computers and Technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to understand and operate packaging and labeling equipment
- Experience using seed-to-sale tracking software – strongly preferred

Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm ET, with flexibility for mandatory overtime as required to meet business needs.
