FAMILY HOUSING MANAGER

Position Description

Reports to : Senior Director, Programs

Job Classification : Full-time, Exempt

Work Location : Duvall, WA

Wage : $63,255-$72,383 annually

At Acres of Diamonds, we are champions for moms and kids moving out of homelessness. We are a relational Christian ministry dedicated to helping moms rewrite their stories for lasting change for themselves and generations to come.   Our work is to come alongside each mom and her children and help them heal and grow. Our non-traditional community-based housing model is designed to help moms and kids feel safe in a place they can call home.  We include counseling, case management, relationship skills, employment support, parenting classes, financial management, and much more.  We work closely with each family to develop a program tailored to their needs to maximize their success.

Position Summary : The Family Housing Manager oversees the client experience from application approval through program exit and aftercare. This role manages a small team of program staff to support residents through move-in, daily living in community, preparation for move out and integration into their new home. The position also manages the onboarding, equipping, and encouraging of volunteers who provide coaching and mentoring to residents.

Move-In

Assist intake team with timely intake interviews and move-ins, including tours, answering questions, administering drug testing, participating in a team interview with the applicant, and assisting as needed in the decision-making process.

Resident Life

  • Oversee day-to-day safety and operation of the resident community, supervising and training the Resident Specialists, volunteers, and resident community assistants.
  • Participate in verbal de-escalation and other interventions in emergent situations and be able and willing to assist other staff as needed to maintain a safe, secure environment.
  • Brief staff on resident experiences and engagement in written communications and at Coordination of Care meetings.
  • Ensure transition from intake to daily life to life beyond Acres is consistent with Acres desired quality of care and values.
  • Ensure community house preparations for tours, move-ins, and other functions.
  • Lead community meetings, meals, and other resident engagement activities to provide empowering experiences for residents, and engagement and fun with their children.
  • Oversee efforts to encourage and develop healthy community living among residents.
  • Screen, on-board, and train volunteers for roles in mentoring, coaching, and spiritual group.

Beyond Acres Program – Continued Development and Management

  • Oversees relational connection with former residents and current Acres residents. Connects former residents with Resident Care Team for counseling and case management as needed.
  • Manages volunteer recruitment and development for the program.
  • Oversees former resident events and workshops to serve Beyond Acres families.

  • Occasionally provides support to residents and staff on evenings and weekends.
  • Drafts and maintains policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility.

  • Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a trauma informed environment or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years training or experience practicing Motivational Interviewing or equivalent.
  • Language Ability : Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

    Mathematical Ability : Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability : Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills : Comfortable in Microsoft Office 365 applications including Excel, client databases, general office tools.

    Certificates and Licenses : Valid Washington state driver’s license and ability to travel to frequent offsite meetings.
