Job Summary:
We are currently looking to add to our team with an exciting opportunity as an Accounting Manager in Acrisure Business Services as part of the Acrisure Real Estates Services Team (ARES), primarily servicing one or more of our title companies located in St. Louis, MO. The Accounting Manager role is a strong supporting partner to the Director of Accounting in Acrisure Business Services and Senior Controller of ARES. The Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight and analysis of Partner accounting for a number of ARES partners in the St. Louis area, in addition to the supervision of the team of accounting personnel at the local level. The ideal candidate must be hands on, have excellent organizational and people management skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ours is a relationship-oriented business, and strong relationship and partnering skills are vital to this role. Previous work experience as a Accounting Manager or Supervisor, and experience in the title and real estate services or a related industry is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work directly with our ARES Partner(s) in the local market on all accounting related matters
Ensure timely recording of title revenue and expense transactions, including all necessary multi-company and cost center allocations
Ensure accurate and complete processing of bi-weekly payroll through a third-party payroll company, along with timely reporting and remittances of payroll related taxes
Ensure timely closing of the month end books with submission of required financial reports to the ARES Team
Responsible for timely monthly reporting to joint venture partners, including coordination of appropriate JV tax return preparation
Ensure the completion of daily and monthly title escrow bank account reconciliations, including daily monitoring of positive pay reporting and exceptions with the partners’ bank accounts
Ensure complete and timely reporting and remittance of title premiums to the partners’ title underwriter companies
Assist with completion of periodic balance sheet audits on significant accounts in accordance with the corporate accounting schedule
Coordinate annual activities such as the year-end audit, budget, state apportionment, 1099 information, and unclaimed property
Coordinate and/or assist with annual underwriter audits
Assist with special reporting requests of the ARES Team and ad hoc corporate reporting needs
Review monthly income statement to budget and research/explain variances with the ARES Team and Management
Ensure proper compliance with sales/use tax, unclaimed property, and surplus lines tax
Provide support as needed to accounting team members in ARES

Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree or the recognized equivalent in education and experience, preferred. CPA is a plus.
Minimum (5) five years of relevant accounting supervisory experience is required
Title services/related financial industry accounting background is required
Prior experience with balance sheet reconciliations required
Prior experience working with both the income statement, balance sheet and cost center reporting is required
Prior variance analysis experience is required
Prior experience with balance sheet reconciliations is required
Quickbooks or similar software experience is required
Excel Proficiency is required
Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is expected
Workday experience is a plus
