Job Summary:
Acrisure is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Accounting to join our dynamic team in the insurance industry. As a leading provider of insurance services, we provide exceptional customer service and maintaining strong relationships with our partners. As a Sr. Manager of Accounting Operations, you will play a critical role in overseeing the platform accounting team and related projects.
This role is responsible for leading and managing the platform accounting operations team. Oversight of this team includes assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the team, determining capacity restraints and hiring recommendations as needed, providing guidance and training to team members and annual performance reviews. This includes ensuring all duties of the team are completed accurately and timely.
The ideal candidate must be hands-on, have excellent organizational skillset and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We are a relationship-oriented business, and strong relationship and partnering skills are vital to this role. Previous leadership experience in accounting is required. Experience in the insurance brokerage or a related industry is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Encourages cross functional acumen by having strong understanding of the regional agency accounting operation’s functional processes and their impact on other departments / individuals
- Strong understanding and ability to perform the tasks of the regional agency accounting operation’s functional processes.
- Strong understanding of the corporate and finance accounting processes
- General understanding of other corporate services (i.e., payroll, benefits, regulatory affairs, marketing, communications, legal, etc.)
- Delivers holistic feedback to others about their job performance and career growth; coaches others to help them develop their careers.
- Effectively makes decisions while cognizant of how that decision impacts the other departments / individuals.
- Collaborates with agency accounting operations leadership team for implementation of best practices and continuous improvement.
- Reviews and approves process changes, prior to communication to the Acrisure Partners and internal staff
- Sets stretching (but attainable) goals/expectations for team.
- Keeps performance on track by accurately scoping out projects, identifying priorities and anticipating problems.
- Understands and approves staffing needs aligned with the budget, metric targets and future Acrisure Partner transitions.
- Works and collaborates with team to solve problems brought to their attention by the Acrisure Partner and/or team.
- Takes responsibility for outcomes and results.
- Regularly seeks and accepts feedback given by others.
- Available and responsive to Acrisure Partner and internal staff questions.
- Delivers sensitive messages with diplomacy and tact
- Builds new relationships and maintains existing relationships with Acrisure personnel and Acrisure Partners
- Follows up on projects and team assignments and hold others accountable for their internal deadlines and administrative responsibilities
- Understands the financial position of the Acrisure Partner and can help them make decisions and make suggestions based on knowledge

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum (5 ) five years of experience in accounting, including receivable and payable experience
- Insurance brokerage/related industry accounting background preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of both operational and financial accounting.
- A working knowledge of insurance-based management systems (i.e., AMS360, Epic, Applied TAM) is highly desired.
