Divisional Business Development Manager
Job Overview
As a Divisional Business Development Manager (DBDM) you will handle the critical function of working with our dealership clients, SVP, MVP, and DMs to identify key accounts, develop and implement plans, and utilize strategies to increase the division’s gross revenues. You will be responsible for identifying performance gaps, conducting needs assessments, applying training tools/resources, providing feedback and coaching to dealership personnel, and ensuring improved growth, development, and effectiveness within the Sales/F&I department.
The goal of this position is to forge strong relationships with our dealership clients and to drive sustainable financial growth for both them and APG by increasing sales of APG products.
This position requires regular travel between our California and Washington Divisions.
Qualifications
Responsibilities
Listed responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identify key accounts in consultation with the SVP, MVP, and DMs.
- Develop and implement business development plans that may include weekly, bi-monthly, and/or monthly training (Large group, small group, and/or 1-on-1).
- Conduct Sales Meetings and F&I Focus Meetings.
- Provide classroom instruction for the Irvine, CA based 5 Day F&I Class and other retail sales, and management courses as needed.
- Provide classroom instruction for in-dealership F&I Management and other retail sales and management courses.
- Conduct any training as scheduled by the President of Training
- Recruiting and interviewing potential F&I managers to maintain replacement F&I bullpen.
- Dealer Meetings (CAPS, quarterly, and/or monthly).
- Work to establish systems & controls within the target accounts.
- Hold monthly meetings with Pres. of Training SVP, MVP, and DMs.
- Prepare monthly production reports for target accounts.
- Develop monthly game plans for target accounts.
- Prepare monthly production reports for target accounts.
- Adjust monthly game plans for target accounts as needed.
- Be an expert at Auto Security Upgrade training.
- Coordinate with the training department to provide additional client training as needed.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 5 years of Retail Automotive Management experience required. Business Development, Sales, Training, Finance, Consulting, or Strategy work preferred.
- Interest and ability to travel regularly between our California and Washington Divisions.
- Exceptional relationship skills and business development skills to aggressively pursue business goals.
- Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals and responsibilities.
- Experienced with account management (Enterprise, SMB and startup) and solution selling ability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct financial modeling, competitor assessments and data-driven analysis.
- Some knowledge of automotive industry and automotive dealerships, with natural curiosity for acquire additional knowledge continuously.
- Ability to develop business plans under various scenarios.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility to work in fast-paced environment with "hands-on" team player approach.
- Strong internal networking and cross-functional instincts. Ability to coordinate with others from across the organization and outside of formal lines of authority.
- Results oriented, with ability to work with minimum supervision to coordinate and facilitate activities across groups.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization in verbal and written form.
