Job Title: Data Architect
Working hours: 40/week
Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension once fiscal budget is finalized)
Location: Carson City NV 89701(Hybrid- 2 days onsite and 3 days remote)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join us. This role involves establishing a robust Business Intelligence (BI) infrastructure on the cloud, including the development of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based data pipelines for efficient data ingestion and integrity. Additionally, you will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting large, complex datasets using BI tools like Power BI to design and implement dashboards, reports, and workflows related to the process. You will play a pivotal role in consolidating data from all 17 counties into a single, comprehensive, cloud-based BI platform.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the team to identify and integrate relevant data sources from the 17 counties.
• Design and implement SQL queries to extract, clean, and transform data for consolidation.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage, ensuring scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
• Architect and deploy a BI infrastructure on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), specializing in setting up cloud data warehouses like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Create ETL processes that support real-time data ingestion and batch processing tailored for BI needs.
• Utilize advanced BI tools to design and implement dashboards, reports, and automated workflows in Power BI, enhancing decision-making with real-time insights.
• Develop statistical models and algorithms to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within the data, leveraging cloud computing for scalability.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and develop hypotheses, leveraging cloud services for computational efficiency.
• Build predictive models to forecast voter turnout and other related outcomes, integrating machine learning capabilities in the cloud.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security in the BI infrastructure, adhering to best practices for cloud environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine BI tools and reports, ensuring they meet business needs and are optimized for cloud performance.
• Stay abreast of the latest in cloud-based BI technologies, data science techniques, and data security standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining cloud-based BI systems.
• Expertise in SQL, cloud data warehousing, and cloud data integration tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including experience with cloud-hosted Power BI services.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with hands-on experience in at least one of these platforms.
• Strong background in statistical analysis and data mining techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage large, complex data sets with an eye for data quality and integrity.
• Familiarity with processes and regulations is highly beneficial.
