Job Title- Leave & Benefits Specialist
Location- Davidson, North Carolina
Pay Rate- $23.12/hour on W2 (US Citizen or Green Card Holder only)
Key Points-
Team - HR solutions, primarily benefits administration - Leave and disability, FMLA, payroll and 401k
- Payroll background - understand deductions and benefits, can work with vendors, outsourced but we are the liaison.
- Need to have good understanding of benefits, disability and FMLA. More important than years of experience.
- Payroll experience is a bonus
- Stand out experience - someone that thinks through all scenarios, willingness to do research before giving answers. Needs to be empathetic
Job Responsibilities:
Resolve tier II escalations received through Service Now, emails, and/or phone calls in a timely manner ensuring Service Partnership Agreements are met
Acts as technical resource and subject matter expert on benefit plan/ policy interpretations, procedures and processes
Provide coaching support to employees, HR and managers on benefit plans, processes, tools and systems
Using a relatively thorough knowledge of the company benefit plans, HRIS and vendor systems and structure, troubleshoot and resolve issues ranging from simple questions to moderately detailed and complex issues directly with managers and HR in accordance with Service Partner Agreements (SPA’s)
Partner with other HR groups to promote team alignment. Works with HR Services, sector HR Leaders and Managers to support new services and change management activities
Audit the processes, systems and ticketing system and provides recommendations and solutions for continuous improvement
Maintains awareness of pending changes in laws and regulations and their impact on existing Leave programs and ensure actions are in compliance
Collaborate with HR teams on system performance, resolution and data integrity opportunities
Participate in and/or lead projects as needed
Actively support enterprise and/or sector system, tools and process improvement implementations
Collaborate with HRBP’s, COE’s, Corporate Benefits and Internal Legal and other HR groups as needed
Provide support to Coordinators and new team members as needed
Supports compliance or audit requests as required, both at the state or federal levels as well as with government compliance. Performs any control self-assessments to ensure controls are regularly tested and in place for the processes, and are compliant with governmental and internal rules.
Create documentation for new processes and able to accurately update existing documentation based on enhancements made to existing processes
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (HR, business administration, or related field) is required with a minimum of 5 years of Health and Welfare and FMLA Administration experience
Experience with HR systems required, PeopleSoft and Service Now preferred
Intermediate level MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) skills are required
Project management skills a plus
Lean Six Sigma skills a plus
SHRM Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification a plus
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be detail oriented

- Ability to work effectively with detailed business processes and technology.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical internal and external customers
- Ability to perform professional and accurate work, with a sense of urgency
