Summary: Under the direction of the RN Supervisor, the LPN Wing Supervisor carries out the medical plan of care and oversees the Nursing Assistants' care of residents and High School Students to insure that resident care is carried out in accordance with good nursing practice and applicable State and Federal regulations. Client's ideal candidate would be someone who has a passion to work with and interact with residents daily.
General Duties:
- Physician's Computer Company: EHR/EMR
- Administers and records medication, treatments and monitoring e.g. glucose checks, as ordered and reports and documents resident response
- Accurately transcribes physician's orders
- Completes monthly summaries as scheduled
- Reviews the care plan with NAs on monthly summary day and updates the care plan to reflect the resident’s current condition.
- Notifies the RN Supervisor immediately of a significant change in resident’s condition
- Reports and records changes in resident condition to the RN Supervisor
- Communicates resident transfers to immediate family and via email to department heads
- Completes transfer form for all transfers
- Updates care plans with clear, concise, time limited goals to reflect resident condition and directs team to implement approaches
- Assists physicians with rounds, examinations and treatments as needed
- Collects laboratory specimens e.g.: urine, cultures, stool, etc. and arranges for delivery to Hospital with accurate and complete requisitions. Documents in PCC when laboratory work is done

- Nursing Home Experience - a plus
- New Grads welcome to apply
- BLS (AHA) - Required
- COVID Vaccine - Preferred but not required
- Must possess a current license in PA or a temporary work permit - Required at time of Interview!
- Must possess knowledge of: medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting and recording, thorough knowledge of nursing theory and it's application
- Must be willing to possess knowledge of and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and philosophy of the institution
- Must maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors and co-workers and a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly
- Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully, and properly care for equipment
- Must possess ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives
- Must utilize good communication and observation skills
