Hourly Pay Range: $61.06 - $103.85/'Hourly.
Salary Pay Range: $127,004.80 - $216,008/Yearly.
Summary: The Privacy Officer is responsibility for being on a team discussing information privacy components of Hospital Ethics and Compliance Program (“Program”) across the health system. On a team of compliance professionals responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring components of the Program to ensure compliance with federal healthcare program requirements, Hospital policy and the Code of Conduct and Ethics. This includes adherence to the requirements and guidance set forth by various regulatory authorities, such as the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Office of Inspector General (OIG), the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Texas Health and Human Services (HHS).
Skills or Special Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to create and deliver clear, concise and effective information to a diverse workforce through a variety of methods, such as formal training, audit reports, informational webinars, etc.
- Mastery-level proficiency with Microsoft applications, telecommunications tools, software and applications most commonly used in the healthcare environment.
- Robust organizational skills with an attention to deadlines, details and accountability.
- Responds well under pressure; accepts delegation while simultaneously serving as a coach/mentor/supporter to subordinates.
- Excellent critical-thinking skills with intuitive ability to appropriately escalate matters base on potential risk to the organization.

Submission Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is Required, master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in healthcare operations or compliance, preferably with a large, multi-faceted healthcare company or academic medical center. Required
- Experience with information privacy and security-related activities such as investigations and reporting, auditing and monitoring, education and training, risk assessments and mitigation/remediation procedures.
- May have an equivalent combination of experience and certification in lieu of specific education requirements.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)
- Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US)
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS)
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
