- Lead and manage the development of the portfolio planning process, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives, goals, and business priorities.
- Work closely with senior leadership, product managers, and business stakeholders to define portfolio goals, investment priorities, and long-term strategic vision.
- Oversee the creation and execution of the portfolio roadmap, ensuring the right mix of projects, initiatives, and resources are allocated to maximize business value.
- Develop and maintain detailed portfolio plans, including scope, budget, timeline, and resource allocation, and ensure adherence to deadlines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers and business unit leaders to ensure effective prioritization, tracking, and execution of portfolio initiatives across the organization.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews with key stakeholders, providing updates on project status, resource utilization, financial performance, and risk management.
- Implement portfolio governance processes to monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure that portfolio outcomes are aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
- Provide leadership and guidance in portfolio risk management, identifying potential issues and proactively developing mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement portfolio performance metrics, tracking the success of individual projects and the overall portfolio against defined business KPIs.
- Work with financial teams to manage and report on portfolio budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Analyze portfolio performance data, market trends, and industry insights to inform decision-making and optimize portfolio strategy.
- Lead resource management efforts, including identifying resource gaps and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure the right skills and capacity are in place.
- Ensure that the portfolio planning process adheres to compliance, regulatory, and organizational standards and requirements.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships with key departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, IT, Product Development) to ensure portfolio objectives are understood and executed effectively.
- Continuously assess and improve the portfolio planning processes, tools, and methodologies to ensure they remain agile and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in portfolio management, project management, or strategic planning, with a strong focus on portfolio planning and execution in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of portfolio management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices, including Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid approaches.
- Experience in resource allocation, capacity planning, and budgeting for large, complex portfolios.
- Solid understanding of financial management and performance tracking, with the ability to manage and forecast portfolio budgets and costs.
- Demonstrated experience in managing portfolio risks, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, manage stakeholder expectations, and influence decision-making.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with portfolio management and project management software/tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, including finance, operations, product, and technology, to ensure the successful execution of portfolio strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present portfolio strategies and performance to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements, driving efficiencies across portfolio planning and execution.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
