Qualifications
- Associate degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field (as determined by the AOC).
- Active certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Enterprise or Security.
- Ten (10) years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field (as determined by the AOC).
- Recent certifications (issued within the last four (4) years):
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
- Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) from Palo Alto Networks.
- Designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting computer networks and infrastructure.
- Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation of a statewide network, utilizing industry best practices for security, disaster recovery, business continuity, change control, and client support.
- Developing and analyzing network designs and protocols, including prototyping and assessment.
- Planning, engineering, forecasting, and implementing network systems while identifying resource requirements.
- Leading and assisting in major network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades, and new products/features.
- Evaluating current network systems and recommending changes in maintenance and systems standards, while training support personnel on conversion, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Applying in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, and industry trends for LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center, Cloud networking, and interconnection.
- Driving improvements in network processes, efficiency, and standardization.
- Ensuring security compliance, change control processes, and adherence to standards.
- Providing upper-tier diagnosis, isolation, and resolution of network problems, identifying and documenting root causes, and proactively identifying potential issues.
- Developing comprehensive graphical and text-based documentation and effectively managing the implementation process from design to acceptance.
- Hosting weekly status meetings/calls with the team or as needed.
- Leading, scheduling, and overseeing activities with other team members to resolve end-user hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the creation of robust network designs, acting as the escalation point of contact and lead engineer for implementations, providing ongoing support and maintenance.
- Overseeing the configuration, maintenance, and documentation of routers, switches, wireless controllers, load balancers, security appliances, WAN optimizers, and management and security appliances.
- Reporting as follows:
- Weekly reports communicating project progress and status.
- Weekly time reporting on JIS provided forms.
- Any additional reports as assigned by the supervising manager.

- Network Management Protocols, Applications, and Operating System capabilities.
- Installation and configuration of Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Palo Alto platforms.
- Installation, configuration, securing, and troubleshooting enterprise wireless access systems.
- Ability to:
- Work independently, troubleshoot, and mentor junior associates.
- Communicate effectively when providing presentations.
- Produce technical documents (diagrams, design documents, project plans and schedules, and user instructions) as required.
- Knowledge of:
- Infrastructure Services and IPAM products.
- IP multicast, Enterprise Video conferencing, streaming, and on-demand components.
