Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of GIS applications and databases.
- Manage and optimize GIS software, tools, and infrastructure to support organizational needs.
- Perform advanced spatial data analysis, modeling, and visualization to support decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain spatial data layers, maps, and related documentation.
- Integrate GIS solutions with other enterprise systems, such as ERP, CRM, or asset management systems.
- Ensure data interoperability between GIS and non-GIS systems, utilizing APIs, web services, and other integration methods.
- Lead and manage GIS-related projects, including requirements gathering, resource allocation, and timeline management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide expert-level support to GIS users, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performance tuning.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to maximize the use of GIS technologies.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and quality by establishing and enforcing GIS data standards and best practices.
- Implement and maintain metadata standards and data governance policies.
- Contribute to the development of GIS strategies, roadmaps, and policies to align with organizational goals.
- Identify emerging GIS technologies and trends to recommend improvements or new implementations.
- Develop custom reports, dashboards, and visualizations using GIS tools to support various departments.
- Present GIS data insights to stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner.
- Ensure that GIS data and systems comply with relevant regulations, policies, and security standards.
- Implement data security measures to protect sensitive spatial information.

- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in GIS analysis, system management, and application development.
- Proven experience with GIS software platforms such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
- Experience in managing GIS projects from inception to completion.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in GIS software and tools, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or similar.
- Expertise in spatial data analysis, geospatial modeling, and cartographic design.
- Experience with GIS scripting languages (e.g., Python) and automation of GIS workflows.
- Familiarity with database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
- Knowledge of web GIS technologies, including web mapping applications, GIS APIs, and REST services.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Esri Technical Certification, GISP (GIS Professional), or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex spatial data.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical GIS concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
