Job Title: Systems/ Network Administrator

Location: San Jose, California (Onsite)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and updates of operating systems and software.
• Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of all critical business systems.
• Implement and manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to optimize resource utilization.
• Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, ensuring optimal bandwidth usage, security, and uptime.
• Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and security breaches.
• Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the organization’s systems and data, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits, applying patches and updates to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Manage user access controls, including Active Directory and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Develop and implement backup strategies to ensure data protection and business continuity.
• Regularly test backup and disaster recovery procedures to validate their effectiveness.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of the network and system configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Generate regular reports on system and network performance, security incidents, and other key metrics.
• Provide technical support to end-users, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Train users on best practices for system and network usage, including security awareness.
• Work with vendors to procure hardware, software, and services, ensuring that all purchases align with the organization’s needs and budget.
• Manage relationships with service providers, including internet and telecommunication providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

• Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems and/or network administration.
• Proven experience with network and system security, including firewalls, VPNs, and anti-virus software.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash for automation.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Certifications:
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent are preferred.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Education:
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
