What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Phlebotomist position at ACS Labs ON-Site?
Part Time, and PRN positions available. Seeking experienced Mobile Phlebotomists to serve patients in the Quincy, Plymouth, Fall River and surrounding areas of Massachusetts, by collecting specimens from homebound patients or other settings; preparing specimens for laboratory testing; and performing screening procedures. Services will be performed in the patient's home or other private settings. Reliable transportation and auto insurance are required. As a mobile phlebotomist, the employee will be required to drive to specific locations to draw blood samples as required. Must have a valid driver's license and insured, dependable and economy style vehicle. Do not apply to this job if you do not have a dependable insured vehicle and phlebotomy experience.
Phlebotomist Job Duties:
- Verifies test requisitions by comparing the information with dept log; bringing discrepancies to the attention of the manager.
- Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
- Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingersticks.
- Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.
- Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.
- Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule; recording results in the quality-control log; identifying and reporting needed changes.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Serves and protects the clinical community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Wears required safety and PPE safety equipment.
