ACS Manufacturing is a state-of-the-art design build manufacturer of acoustical equipment enclosures, fuel tanks, turbine systems and skids. ACS Manufacturing, Inc. has one of the largest facilities in the industry, nearly 300,000 square feet on 36 acres in Denison, Texas and has expanded its operation to 150,000 square feet facility in Abbeville, SC.
Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating with customers and overseeing the design, revision, and manufacture of electrical switchgear houses, acoustical equipment enclosures, fuel tanks, turbine systems, and skids. The PM is responsible for obtaining preliminary submittal drawings from the ACS Engineering team, communicating with customers regarding approval or necessary revisions to those drawings, coordinating with Engineering staff to make needed changes, obtaining signed customer approval of drawings, ensuring that necessary parts and materials are purchased and on hand for production, overseeing the manufacture of the final product meets customer specifications, and arranging for delivery of the final product to the customer on schedule and on budget. The PM is also responsible for ensuring the customer is invoiced for jobs upon completion.
Job Responsibilities / Duties
- Keep up with growing number of projects and streamline workflow from initial design to project completion.
- Review and understand project work orders from the ACS Sales department and coordinate with Engineering staff to generate preliminary “customer drawings” that meet customer specifications.
- Document the scheduling and progress of projects using the ACS database, EPICOR (ERP).
- Communicate with customers regarding any needed revisions, questions, or concerns in order to obtain signed approval of customer drawings.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Shop personnel to create accurate Shop Drawing Packages used for production.
- Reduce drafting and design errors throughout the engineering and manufacturing process.
- Ensure customers’ ship-loose material is received, inventoried, and accounted for, and an accurate packing list generated.
- Assist with instructions for Engineering and Shop personnel in meeting project specifications, safe work practices, and scheduling requirements.
- Coordinate with ACS Purchasing department for the purchasing of parts and materials necessary for job completion on schedule.
- Ensure that the final product meets the specifications of the signed and approved customer drawings.
- Coordinate with customers and freight companies to ensure delivery of the final product upon completion.
- Coordinate with ACS Accounting personnel to ensure customer invoicing is completed on schedule.
- Assist customers in the field with any complications or questions that arise on the job site upon delivery.
- Work with customers on any warranty concerns / issues that arise.
- Schedule and assist customers with testing at ACS’ facility and customer visits.
- Obey the safety standards of ACS and follow local, state, and federal regulations.
- Responsible for any other tasks that may arise.
