Overview:
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work remote with our client. This System Administrator 3 position will install, configure, and support server-based applications, including systems hosted in IIS and Tomcat. Responsibilities include assisting with application troubleshooting, drafting system processes for integrations, and ensuring compliance through routine security audits. The role also involves providing on-call support, collaborating on system updates, and managing system availability to meet service level agreements. Additionally, the position will lead technical projects, manage documentation, and implement performance improvements for business applications. This full-time position is open ONLY to candidates based in WA, OR, ID or MT.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support server-based applications.
- Support business systems in the areas of compliance: TeamMate, OpenText Control Point, Records Manager, Consolidated Archive, eDiscovery, and Legal Hold. IT support- systems include Jama Software, Azure DevOPs and RSA Archer.
- Support multiple server applications hosted in IIS and/or Tomcat.
- Draft and prepare system processes for required integrations and data interfaces.
- Assist with troubleshooting applications and server issues.
- This position may provide on-call and backup support for existing systems and functions and may require carrying a supplied cell phone/pager and working outside of standard business hours when requested.
- Monitor and verify system availability to meet service level agreements.
- Collaborate with a server team on implementation of patches, hot fixes, service packs, etc.
- Perform routine audits of security controls to verify compliance.
- Draft and prepare system security documents, system flow diagrams, system integration documents, and other technical project deliverables, as requested. Final documentation must be reviewed and approved by the Manager/ staff.
- Mark documents and maintain filing system(s), files, emails, and records in accordance with compliance requirements. Share and disperse documents only to appropriate personnel (those with a Lawful Government Purpose (LGP) to know). Mark and maintain all official records in accordance with the Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Governance & Lifecycle Management (IGLM) standards and procedures. Validate official records are accurately maintained for auditing purposes.
- Recommend and apply configuration settings to meet business needs and security requirements.
- Assist in release management and deployment of application customizations.
- Serve as technical lead for business application deployment for projects and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) support, which includes:
- Break down technical work into tasks and provide reasonable time estimates for completion.
- Communicate status of project development work to project team, users, information system owner (ISO), and other stakeholders.
- Analyze and evaluate requirements; propose technical designs that satisfy the requirements, which also minimize the long-term maintenance of the system.
- Identify technical bottlenecks and impediments and escalate these to the project manager, information system owner (ISO), and ISO delegate.
- Produce technical documentation, such as installation plans, configuration plans, Information System Contingency Plans, etc., as requested.
- Communicate and coordinate with a wide variety of technical and business experts in both individual and group settings.
- Track and maintain application documentation as it relates to specific implementations.
- Recommend, and implement approved techniques for monitoring and improving performance of COTS.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a directly related technical discipline is preferred.
- 8 years of experience is required with an applicable associate or bachelor’s degree.
- 10 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
- Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of computer/information technology or related field and progressively more technical in nature.
- Must provide a detailed accounting on the resume to include dates of various required experience and knowledge listed below.
- 5 years of experience in an enterprise server environment configuring and supporting commercial off-the-shelf business applications.
- 5 years of experience in an enterprise environment installing, configuring, and supporting server-based applications.
- 5 years of experience and skill in the following:
- Windows Servers (2019/2022) and their administration
- Microsoft SQL Server (2019/2022) and its administration
- .NET
- Java
- IIS
- Tomcat
- Active Directory
- SSL
- SCOM/MOM
- Splunk
- 2 years of experience with configuration and management of the following applications:
- Server based applications hosted under IIS or Tomcat
- Commercial off-the-shelf .NET applications
- 2 years of working knowledge of the following:
- LDAP/Active Directory
- Networking and security protocols including constrained delegation and Kerberos
- Server-side scripting (VB, Powershell)
- 2 years working knowledge of and skill with configuration of application monitoring.
- Experience with configuration and management of commercial off-the-shelf Java applications.
- Experience with VMWare.
- Experience in the following areas:
- Supporting Visual Studio, MS Azure Dev OPs, Jama Contour, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Wolters Kluwer TeamMate, RSA Archer.
- Data integration exchanges.
- Website analytics.
- Microsoft Operations Framework and/or ITIL.
- FISMA, NIST, A123/Sarbanes Oxley standards and controls.
