SUMMARY: This position is responsible for new product and process design as well as modification, enhancements and improvements of existing products and materials in accordance with and utilization of professional engineering design principles and practices. This is an integral role and will interface and act as a technical support bridge between quality, operations, sales, and engineering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary:
- Provide technical support to the Sales and Operations departments.
- Create quotes based on requirements provided by customers as well as creation of specifications for customer signoffs.
- Create detailed technical specifications for the purpose of product manufacturing
- Maintain specifications to ensure accuracy between documentation and product manufactured.
- Create process parameters with production staff.
- Create purchasing specifications for raw materials used for product manufacturing.
- Interface with QC personnel on regulatory specifications.
- Interface with local UL, CSA and other inspectors.
- Secondary:
- Lead new product development projects.
- Perform data analysis through the use of statistical software in order to improve quality of new cables as well as current/older versions.
- Assist quality department in creation of test procedures, testing templates, test fixtures and equipment purchases.
- Assist production department and process team on technical obstacles present in day-to-day operations.
- Work with the general manager and plant manager to establish equipment process capabilities.
- Assist lab staff with QA issues relating to performance and failure analysis.
- Adhere to the core PCA goals of ISO 9000 Total Quality Management.
- Subscribe to and practice 5S, JIT, etc.
- Safety:
- Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This position is responsible for the oversight and performance management of the junior engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or similar experience in wire and cable.
- Minimum 5 years previous wire and cable experience preferred.
- Relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Google, and Zoom.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying highly organized.

Salary : $87,770 - $131,665
