We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented Business Development Director with a strong emphasis on marketing to lead our business expansion efforts within the logistics industry. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and leading marketing initiatives that elevate our brand and position us as a leader in logistics services. This role requires a deep understanding of both business development and marketing in the logistics and supply chain sector, with a strong focus on delivering integrated strategies that foster growth and enhance customer engagement.

Job Expectations:

Strategic Business Development:

• Lead the development and execution of business development strategies that drive growth and increase market share within the logistics industry, including transportation, freight, and supply chain management services.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, both domestically and internationally, through strategic partnerships, new client acquisition, and expanding existing client relationships.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and optimize business strategies.
• Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including senior decision-makers, industry influencers, and strategic partners.
• Lead the creation of high-level proposals, presentations, and contracts to secure new business, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client needs.

Marketing Strategy & Leadership:

• Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance the company’s brand presence, communicate value propositions, and generate leads in the logistics sector.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to design and implement digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, content marketing, social media, and paid advertising, ensuring alignment with business development goals.
• Guide the development of thought leadership content such as whitepapers, case studies, and industry reports to position the company as a trusted authority in logistics and supply chain management.
• Develop marketing collateral, including brochures, pitch decks, and website content, tailored to target audiences and sales strategies.
• Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels and ensure that marketing initiatives are driving business growth.

Leadership & Team Collaboration:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the business development and marketing teams, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, and customer service to ensure seamless execution of business strategies and service delivery.
• Work closely with senior leadership to set clear business goals, measure performance, and adjust strategies as necessary to meet revenue and market penetration objectives.
• Foster a results-driven environment with clear performance metrics, ensuring the team meets and exceeds key business development and marketing targets.

Market Intelligence & Reporting:

• Continuously assess the competitive landscape and market conditions to inform business development and marketing strategies.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development activities, marketing campaigns, and overall revenue growth.
• Provide regular updates to the executive team on business development, progress, marketing performance, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proven track record of driving business growth, generating leads, and expanding market share in the logistics or transportation sector.
• Expertise in digital marketing strategies, including SEO, content marketing, social media, and email campaigns.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with C-suite executives and key industry stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive decision-making and strategy development.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of logistics software and tools (CRM, analytics, project management platforms) is a plus.                                              

Equipment Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of WMS
• Proficient computer skills
• Maintain updated and current technology knowledge
• Knowledge of current automation systems and machinery

Experience Requirements: 10 years of experience in business development and marketing within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management or related field preferred or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.  

Judgment/Reasoning Ability: Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.

Salary : $150,000 - $190,000
