We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join a long-term project onsite at a customer location in New Freedom, PA This role will be instrumental in design changes for cost savings and sustainability for existing products in the commercial Heating and Cooling industry. It will come with PTO and paid holidays as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for mechanical design. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing designs for mechanical systems and products. This includes:
● Conceptualizing, designing, and detailing mechanical systems and products.
● Using design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo to create 2D and 3D models.
● Applying the principles of mechanics, materials, and thermodynamics to design mechanical systems and products.
● Conducting thorough feasibility studies and risk assessments on potential designs to ensure their functionality and reliability.
Responsibilities
The Mechanical Designer's main duties will include:
1. Design and Drafting:
○ Developing detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical components in sheet metal
○ Coordinating with other professionals to resolve design problems and lay out components and systems.
○ Modifying and revising designs to improve functionality and reduce production issues.
2. Modeling and Analysis:
○ Creating 2D and 3D models using design software.
○ Applying mathematical formulas to develop detailed specifications for components or machinery.
○ Conducting simulations and experiments to refine designs virtually.
3. Materials and Manufacturing Oversight:
○ Specifying materials and other requirements for the design.
○ Overseeing the manufacturing process to ensure effective implementation of the design.
Qualifications
Mechanical Designers should possess the following skills and qualifications:
● Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo).
● Strong experience with Microsoft Excel
● Exposure to sheet metal design
● AS Degree in Mechanical Design
● Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
● Good communication and ability to work with cross functional teams
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
