Research Scientist

Job Description

• Design and prototype drug-device combination and associated delivery system products
• Conduct hands-on laboratory testing to evaluate the performance of the prototypes for supporting formulation, device, and combination product development (i.e. mechanical testing / Instron, in vitro release study testing, pipetting, buffer media)
• Collaboration with scientists and technicians to analyze and resolve technical challenges
• Maintain laboratory notebook and prepare technical reports
• Support preclinical activities through hands-on manufacture and characterization of investigational products
• Leverage tools (MATLAB, RStudio, Python, etc.) to analyze data and validate data to ensure data quality and reliability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University in a relevant technical field (chemical engineering, Biomedical engineering, computer science or related field)

Experience and Skills:
Required:

• Team-oriented with strong written and communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and a collaborative work approach
• Experience of working in a laboratory environment
• Basic wet lab skills (sample dilutions, aseptic procedure, etc.)
• Experience in using programming languages such as Python, RStudio, or MATLAB
• Positive, independent, and contagious work ethic

Preferred:

• Experience in pharmaceutical formulation or product development
• Familiarity with drug-device combination products is a plus.
• Knowledge of chemistry, biology, or material science
• Experience with SolidWorks and 3D printing

Work Environment : Onsite 5 days per week in Lexington, MA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
