Job Title: Analytical Scientist I
Job Description
We are seeking an Analytical Scientist I to join our team at the Research and Development Center focused on over-the-counter drug products in categories such as Allergy, Cough & Cold, Pain, and Cardio. The Analytical Scientist I will perform extensive laboratory work to support specialized software-based stability studies, ensuring all tests are completed on time, results are accurate, and all activities are documented. This role requires effective presentation of results in AD meetings and minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform extensive laboratory work to support specialized software-based stability studies for determining the shelf-life of drug products.
- Write SOPs, guidelines, OI, and reports related to stability studies and specialized stability software.
- Perform Assay method, Impurities method, and dissolution method for drug products.
- Accurately document experiments and results into notebooks, ELN, and LIMS as required.
- Manage projects with minimal supervision to ensure timely completion of tests with accurate results and documented activities.
- Effectively communicate analytical activities and findings to all stakeholders.
- Follow SOPs, OIs, and analytical laboratory practices to ensure work quality and compliance.
- Interact with analysts to review data and recommend appropriate corrections, modifications, or improvements for consistent documentation practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in QC or R&D in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with Waters Agilent HPLC/UPLC and dissolution apparatus USP Type 1 and 2.
- Understanding of fundamental analytical chemistry and chromatography.
- Ability to quickly learn specialized-stability studies software.
- Troubleshooting skills for testing and analytical method-related issues.
- Understanding and adherence to GMP/SOP requirements.
- Familiarity with analytical laboratory documentation practices.
- Expertise in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a collaborative team player.
- Practical knowledge and experience with analytical method development and validation activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Waters Empower3 software is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or international equivalent with 3 years of proven Pharmaceutical Analytical Laboratory experience.
- Master’s degree or higher in Science or international equivalent with 2 years of proven Pharmaceutical Analytical Laboratory experience.
Work Environment
The work environment is a fast-paced laboratory setting. The team is collaborative, and adherence to GMP/SOP requirements is essential. The position involves working with Waters Agilent HPLC/UPLC, dissolution apparatus USP Type 1 and 2, and specialized stability studies software. Practical experience with analytical method development, method validation activities, and MS Office applications is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
