Job Title: Architectural Designer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Designer with 5-10 years of experience in a commercial design setting. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Revit and producing construction document (CD) sets within the software. This role is highly design-oriented and requires a strong portfolio. The position is within the mission-critical studio, focusing on creating and modifying architectural documents, performing routine tasks, and occasionally taking on higher-level assignments for training.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify architectural documents.
- Perform routine tasks and take on higher-level assignments for training.
- Attend site visits, field reviews, and meetings.
- Assist in preparing proposals and presentations.
- Communicate with team members, vendors, and contractors to meet project requirements.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss issues and develop an understanding of accounting principles, project budgets, and fees.
- Be aware of client relationships and business development.
- Assist with marketing presentations.
- 75% production and 25% client coordination.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in Revit and producing construction document sets.
- Experience with design, schematic design, design development, and construction administration.
- Base building experience.
- Ability to manage clients, consultants, and overall projects.
- Strong architectural design skills.
- Experience in creating construction drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture.
- Licensure preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the US.
- Basic understanding of codes and ADA.
- Client interfacing personality.
- 5 years of experience.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a flexible schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work (usually 3 days in the office). However, during the first 30 days, employees are expected to be in the office for 4 days to acclimate to the firm and the team members. The firm is highly collaborative and utilizes offices in NYC, DC, and Richmond, VA to staff all of their work. The company offers benefits such as offsetting the costs of licenses and parking benefits with additional compensation if needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
