Job Title: Automation Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our fast-growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in PLC programming, mechanical engineering, and experience with SolidWorks. This role involves working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure project objectives are met, from initial input to final output requirements.
Responsibilities
- Communicate internally and with customers regarding program objectives, input, and output requirements.
- Prepare flow chart diagrams to communicate project requirements and programming sequences.
- Code flow chart sequences into computer language.
- Validate program operation through testing using validation protocols.
- Prepare instructions for program operation.
- Implement programs or programmed equipment on the factory floor.
- Specify electronic components for industrial control (sensors, drives, output devices).
- Specify mechanical components such as air cylinders, solenoids, fixturing components.
- Create design documentation for physical items such as holding tools, gripping mechanisms, transport mechanics.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent degree/experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on engineering/programming experience.
- Experience with PLCs, servo and other motion controls, pneumatics, sensors, etc.
- Solid modeling/CAD/CAM experience (SolidWorks).
- Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical assembly, debug, and troubleshooting.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with VB.net, C#, Ladder logic, and C is a plus.

The role involves working on the factory floor to implement programs and programmed equipment, requiring a hands-on approach to electrical and mechanical assembly, debugging, and troubleshooting. The work environment is collaborative and focused on achieving project objectives efficiently.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
