CAD Drafter - Indianapolis, IN

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated AutoCAD Technician or CAD Drafter to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. In this full-time role, you will collaborate with Fire Protection Engineers and Building Code Consultants to document fire and life safety features using AutoCAD. You will work primarily on healthcare projects in Indiana and Ohio, with some tasks in surrounding states. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with minimal but proficient experience in AutoCAD and CAD software to develop a long-term career within a stable organization.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify drawings under the supervision of the CAD Manager
• Add symbols, text, and details to drawings as specified by the engineers
• Ensure accuracy and attention to detail
• Multitask and manage several projects simultaneously
• Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to the assigned work shift
• Add polycolor lines and update symbols to align with fire protection design and building codes
• Make small adjustments to designs, such as modifying door locations and orientations
• Organize internal documents and files related to building codes and fire protection designs

Essential Skills

• Technical and demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD Software
• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
• Preferred Experience - Building Codes Knowledge
• Preferred Experience - Fire Protection Drafting
• Preferred Experience - Polycolor lines

Work Environment

You will work in a standard office environment with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The office is located on the West side of Indianapolis near 465. We offer a very competitive benefits package, including paid holidays (8 holidays), vacation (starting at 2 weeks), and sick time (5 days). Employer-paid health, dental, and optical insurance is provided under our standard plan, with additional options available. We also offer an HSA high deductible option with a $3,000 match, an end-of-year bonus based on company profit, and a Christmas bonus. Long-term, there is potential for this role to transition into the CAD Manager position in about 5 years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $31.25/hr.
