Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will greet patients courteously, document accurately in patients' electronic health records, and ensure examination rooms are well-stocked. This role includes scheduling appointments, preparing patient charts, and performing other administrative tasks. We offer a choice of several health plans, including dental and vision coverage.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a courteous manner and bring them back for their appointments.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
- Stock examination rooms and triage areas with necessary medical supplies.
- Inventory and reorder medical supplies as needed.
- Schedule appointments with doctors, call patients to remind and confirm appointments, and reschedule appointments from the bump list.
- Schedule residents' clinics where appropriate.
- Prepare patient charts for the next day, create new patient charts, file and pull charts, and check charts for referrals and authorizations prior to visits.
- Prepare charge tickets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically All Scripts.
- Outgoing and friendly demeanor.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.. You will work in a team with 3-5 providers and another Medical Assistant, handling a patient flow of 16 in the morning and 15 in the afternoon. The role includes preparing charts and ensuring smooth patient flow. Positions available in both Newport News and Norfolk.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
