Job Description
We are currently seeking a Civil CAD drafter/designer to join our team in Florida. The role involves providing AutoCAD Civil 3D support for solid waste and environmental projects for both private and municipal clients. The focus is primarily on horizontal construction, requiring experience in preparing plan and profile views, creating cross-sections, complex grading, and cut/fill balancing. You will collaborate with our engineering staff to incorporate mark-ups, prepare figures, and draft permit/construction drawings. You will be supported by a team to independently complete tasks and projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform preparation of sheet sets, designing, drafting, detailing, and graphics layout with limited supervision.
- Prepare site plan layouts from existing maps, incorporate corrections to existing drawings, evaluate existing conditions surveys, etc.
- Prepare permit and construction level documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Perform volume calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Create design surfaces, manage topographical survey surfaces, and integrate design surfaces into existing conditions.
- Apply and follow appropriate AutoCAD standards and best practices.
- Support all aspects of drafting or AutoCAD under the supervision of the lead professional.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of experience in drafting.
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- 2 years of experience grading landfills, gypsum stacks, coal combustion residuals, or large-scale mining operations.
- Presence in the Tampa office is required.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preference for candidates with engineering consulting firm experience.
Work Environment
This role requires presence in the office five days a week, with the potential to work from home one day a week once fully trained. The position is available in Tampa, Mobile, Atlanta, Orlando, Coconut Creek, or West Palm Beach, with a potential hybrid schedule after onboarding and training. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
