Job Title: Civil Design Engineer

Job Description

We are a licensed civil engineering, land surveying, design, and land use planning firm. Our team designs grading and elevations for medium-sized subdivisions or commercial buildings. Currently, we have a large backlog of work across all departments and are looking for a civil design engineer to help manage the workload and facilitate our growth. In this role, you will wear multiple hats and work directly with our project manager and the President of the firm. You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design various site improvement plans and store drawings electronically.

Responsibilities

• Design exterior path-of-travel, frontage improvements, grading & drainage plans, pavement repair assessment plans, record drawings, site improvement plans, utility plans, and topographic surveys.
• Work on residential and commercial land development and tentative maps.
• Create and store drawings electronically using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare construction documents for residential and commercial subdivisions and improvements.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, and understand construction standards and terminology.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, local municipalities, consultants, and clients.
• Prioritize, plan, and execute work on multiple projects.

Essential Skills

• California PE license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in independently solving complex engineering problems within land development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
• Experience in civil design, grading & drainage, utilities, hydrology, and site design for residential and commercial/industrial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and familiarity with construction standards and terminology.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and team-building skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with creating surfaces, profiles, cross sections, and corridor modeling using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience within the last 5 years in civil design and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Current California Civil PE license (preferred but not required).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00
