Job Title: Civil Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Civil Designer to join our team in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of project experience within the civil or transportation industry and will be adept at transforming initial designs into final construction documents. This role requires a strong understanding of civil site development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Transform initial rough designs, sketches, and redlines/mark-ups into finished graphics and construction documents.
• Perform 2D and 3D CADD modeling.
• Detail and layout civil site and structural plans.

Essential Skills

• Working knowledge of civil site development, including grading, surfaces, volume calculations, sections, profiles, corridors, alignments, and quantity takeoffs.
• 5 years of progressive AutoCADD experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Understanding and application of CAD standards.
• Sound knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods.
• Good analytical thinking, numeracy, computer, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to meet deadlines while performing under pressure.
• Experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple project responsibilities.
• Ability to understand and complete projects with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Civil Design and Drafting (5 years).
• Drafting and Design via Civil 3D.
• BS or AS degree (preferred); if not, 5 years of recent experience.
• Transportation Design via Microstation (preferred).
• Experience with ArcGIS (a strong plus).

Work Environment

This position is based in our Raleigh, NC office, located on the north side of town near Falls of Neuse. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the ability to manage multiple project responsibilities efficiently. The role involves using various software such as Civil 3D, Microstation, and potentially ArcGIS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
