What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
An Engineering & Construction company is looking to add an intermediate civil engineer to their team in Burnaby. You will spend most of your time at site between Iona and Annacis Wastewater treatment plants.
Responsibilities:
- On site you will be responsible for coordinating tasks of design and construction projects. A typical example of this role would be the client wanting to run a pipe and asking if there is anything in the way.
- This person will be conversing with the designer about any construction issues that arise on site.
- They are looking for someone with strong interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, as well as experience with managing consultants, sub-consultants and contractors.
- This person will take direction from the client PE/PM on what tasks need to be completed. You will need to be autonomous while communicating well throughout, needing minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must Haves
- 3-5 years industry experience
- Previous WWTP experience
- P.Eng is preferred but EIT is okay
- Well spoken communicator
- Review - be able to look at design and see it makes sense. Review a report make sure it is clear.
