Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Description

Preparation of civil engineering designs for permit and construction. General site planning including civil engineering land development, MD State Highway Administration roadway design projects, residential and commercial site design, storm water management design, storm drain design, water and sewer design, and sediment and erosion control plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering designs for permits and construction.
• Conduct general site planning, including land development and roadway design projects.
• Design residential and commercial sites.
• Develop storm water management, storm drain, water, and sewer systems.
• Create sediment and erosion control plans.
• Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
• Meet client deadlines with a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to become licensed within one year (preferred).
• At least 2-4 years of relevant land development engineering experience.
• High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Microstation v8 and Power In-Roads (a plus).
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification (preferred).
• At least 3 years working with AutoCAD & Civil 3D.
• At least 3 years of experience with civil site design and land development.
• Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with residential projects (a plus).
• Experience with utility, SHA, and LD projects (preferred).

Work Environment

The design team consists of 2 Professional Engineers, 1 Environmental Engineer, and 1 CAD Technician. The company has over 150 employees, with only 12 in the office and the rest as construction managers/inspectors. Design work will be performed in an office environment with no fieldwork required. The company offers a flexible remote schedule, allowing 2 days from home. A 6% match on 401k and an end-of-year bonus based on revenue are provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $45.67/hr.
