Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Civil Engineer who is proficient in Civil 3D with a focus on water and wastewater design. You will manage wastewater design projects from start to finish, with support from drafters/designers as needed. Projects include general municipal civil engineering tasks, specializing in water supply, transmission, treatment, storage, and distribution; wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and disposal; systems controls and telemetry; special studies including master development plans, storm water, spill prevention, water and wastewater system modeling, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Manage wastewater design projects from start to finish.
• Prepare engineering design drawings using field surveying data, reports, maps, drawings, and topographical and geologic data.
• Determine and prepare project cost estimates.
• Handle all aspects of the project life cycle.
• Prepare contractor pay requests.
• Confirm contractor adherence to construction specifications by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction sites, and reviewing shop drawings.
• Ensure design drawings and contract documents comply with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Manage CAD, surveying, clerical, and other support staff directly involved with the project.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Civil 3D.
• Experience in water/wastewater engineering design.
• Experience with stormwater, wastewater, and drainage design.
• Ability to manage projects from start to finish.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in preparing engineering design drawings.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in piping design.
• Ability to prepare contractor pay requests and monitor project progress.

Work Environment

In-office work environment with site visits as needed based on the state of the project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
