Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The Clinical Laboratory Technician will perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid healthcare providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. This role involves working in specialized laboratories using both manual techniques and automated testing with sophisticated instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Troubleshoot assays and evaluate tests for accuracy.
• Assist with interpreting test results.
• Provide operational support to optimize testing.
• Work with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results.
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
• Assist with specimen collection as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and assay systems.
• Capability to produce accurate results under time constraints.
• Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience).
• Must not be out of lab work for more than 1 year.
• Master's degree is acceptable, but not a PhD or engineering degree.

Work Environment

Work will be performed in the Genomics Extraction Lab. We also hire for roles in the Forensics, neuroimmunology, cell kinetics, central processing, and molecular biology labs.

Pay Rate: $25/hr

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00
