Job Title: Commissioning Coordinator
Job Description
As a Commissioning Coordinator, you will serve as the primary project contact for ensuring the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor completes system monitoring and coordination. You will collaborate with the Integration Lead by participating in system walk downs prior to the turnover of systems from the Contractor. Your role includes organizing the punch list, confirming the completeness of items before turnover for commissioning, and final turnover.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and verify commissioning tests and advise the contractor in writing of any defects discovered.
- Verify the receival and storage of commissioning spare parts or special tools associated with the contractor’s scope of supply.
- Identify, review, and verify the completion of punch list items.
- Interface with Outage Management and Start-up teams.
- Oversee EPC Contractor project-related lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) activities.
- Act as the Owner's representative for signing off on Commissioning Action Items as listed in the Contractor’s Start-Up and Commissioning Plan.
- Coordinate the transmittal of EPC Contractor’s Turnover Documentation to Operations.
- Organize Owner preferences found in the Project Owner Concern Log.
- Review and assess the commissioning schedule weekly.
- Review the contractor's commissioning plan, system testing, and commissioning procedures.
- Validate contractual performance guarantees.
- Assess the commissioning schedule for critical milestones and adequacy of contingency plans.
- Validate the contractor's weekly commissioning work progress report, including earned values.
- Assess the contractor's commissioning performance against commitments made in the Agreement, site procedures, and schedules.
- Report any barriers to achieving key milestones and recovery plans in place to mitigate barriers.
- Attend training provided by the EPC Contractor and plant operations, providing feedback.
- Attend daily project meetings and update the team on impacts to the overall project.
- Facilitate internal start-up and commissioning meetings.
- Prepare weekly status reports.
Essential Skills
- Experience working for an owner, preferably a formal utility owner or municipality, on an EPC project.
- Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to produce internal meeting notes and status of action items.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with simple/combined cycle gas turbines (GE 7FA.05 & GE / PES LM6000).
- Experience with GE Mark IV Control Systems and Allen Bradley Control Systems.
- Ability to read logic diagrams.
- Owner experience preferred.
- Experience in warranty administration and management.
Work Environment
The role involves both office and field work. The initial work schedule is 5-10s, with adjustments as needed during commissioning and start-up phases. Per diem may be available depending on circumstances. Primary locations include Horseshoe Lake (PP) in Harrah, OK, and Tinker AFB in Tinker AFB, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.82 - $49.78/hr.
